FL VAM User Roles Guide

Local IT directors should set up the appropriate role for the user as follows. For a teacher to be assigned the VAM_TEACHER role, they must have a VAM Individual Teacher Report that matches the teacher's ID submitted with the role. To view this webpage as a PDF, click here.

  • Student Reports for all schools in their assigned district

  • School Teacher Summary

  • Student Reports in their assigned school

VAM_TEACHER

With Individual Teacher Report

  • The State Person ID submitted with the VAM_TEACHER role must match the VAM Individual Teacher Report for the teacher to be assigned Individual Teacher Report access

  • Student list associated with their Teacher Report

  • Student Reports in their assigned school

Without Individual Teacher Report

  • If there is no matching teacher record, the user will only receive Student Report access in their assigned school. This user should be assigned the INSTRUCTIONAL_USER role.

  • Reasons a teacher receives no matching record:
    • New teacher without data
    • Did not teach a VAM subject
    • Incorrect SSN
  • Role = VAM_TEACHER

With Individual Teacher Report

VAM_TEACHER_LIMITED

With Individual Teacher Report

  • The State Person ID submitted with the VAM_TEACHER_LIMITED role must match the VAM Individual Teacher Report for the teacher to be assigned Individual Teacher Report access

  • Student list associated with their Teacher Report

  • Student Reports associated with their Teacher Report in the current year. Student Reports for all linked students in previous years.

Without Individual Teacher Report

  • If there is no matching teacher record, the user will not have access to any data. This user should be assigned the INSTRUCTIONAL_USER role.

  • Reasons a teacher receives no matching record:
    • New teacher without data
    • Did not teach a VAM subject
    • Incorrect SSN
  • Role = VAM_TEACHER_LIMITED

  • State Person ID (This attribute assigns Individual Teacher Report access)
INSTRUCTIONAL_USER

  • Student Reports in their assigned school

  • Role = INSTRUCTIONAL_USER

Sample Scenarios

  • Scenario: A teacher in a VAM subject has a teacher record.
    • This user should be assigned the VAM_TEACHER role.
  • Scenario: A teacher in a VAM subject has a teacher record, but the district does not want them to have access to student data for the?entire school.
    • This user should be assigned the VAM_TEACHER_LIMITED role.
  • Scenario: A teacher in a non-VAM subject does not have a teacher record, but you want them to have access to all Student Reports and projections in their school.
    • This user should be assigned the INSTRUCTIONAL_USER role.
  • Scenario: A teacher in a VAM subject receives a message stating no matching records. The SSN might be incorrect.
    • This user should be assigned the VAM_TEACHER role. Please add the correct SSN so this teacher can access their data.
  • Scenario: A new teacher in a VAM subject does not have a teacher record.
    • This user should be assigned the INSTRUCTIONAL_USER role if they should have access to Student Reports within their school.
  • Scenario: A school counselor at a school will be assisting in scheduling.
    • This user should be assigned the INSTRUCTIONAL_USER role if they should have access to Student Reports within their school.
